The story behind MaltaBasketball.com—and the simple question that brought me back to the game.

Back to Ta’ Qali

My name is Stuart Cuschieri. I played basketball in my younger ages and devoted much of my childhood to the sport.

Basketball drew me back when my son became interested in playing. Before long, I was regularly returning to the Ta’ Qali courts with him and rediscovering a part of my life that had never really left me.

Then came a question that should have been easy to answer.

“Who’s playing today?”

The simple question behind this website.

A simpler way into Maltese basketball

The official Malta Basketball Association website is a valuable source of fixtures and statistics. But finding every game being played on a particular day often means searching through one competition after another. MaltaBasketball.com was created to bring that information together and make it easier to explore.

Independent
This is a personal project for the basketball community, not the official Malta Basketball Association website.
Source-linked
Data comes from public sources—primarily the MBA and Genius Sports, with FIBA, clubs and reputable publishers used where relevant. Direct source links are retained wherever available.
Built for access
The goal is simple: make local schedules, teams, results and statistics easier to find, understand and preserve.

How the site was made

I have a background in IT, but this website was created with substantial AI assistance. Without that help, I would not have found the time to turn the idea into a working service. The technology supports the project; decisions about its purpose, presentation and published data remain human-led.

I hope it proves useful to parents, players, coaches and supporters who have asked the same question my son did—and helps more people follow basketball in Malta.
